How does it work?
Veterinary practices simply enter the customer’s phone number in the Virtual Terminal and request a payment. The pet owner then receives a text message with a link that enables them to pay online. This is a great option for curbside check-in visits and virtual care. You do not need to have two-way texting or a cell phone to use this option. The text is sent from within the application.
Much like texting, veterinary practices can copy and paste a simple payment URL into an email or messaging platform, such as Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. You can also include the invoice and client education materials within the same email. This gives customers a seamless, secure checkout experience.
When social distancing is no longer a concern, exam room check-outs can add to the customer service experience, especially for difficult visits. Processing payments in exam rooms can be less disruptive than the waiting room, and provide a better environment for questions and discuss financing options like ScratchPay. Simply take the chip reader into the room, or type in the card number on your iPad, laptop or computer.
